Student wellbeing and safety are key priorities.
Student wellbeing and safety are key priorities at Unit 12 Martial Arts.
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive training environment. Training is conducted in a respectful setting that supports learning, personal development, and enjoyment for all students, regardless of age, experience, or individual needs.
We hold Club Colours with the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association (BMABA). This accreditation requires the Club to meet nationally recognised standards for safeguarding, professionalism, and instructor vetting within martial arts settings.
Students and parents are encouraged to read the Unit 12 Martial Arts Club Handbook and Terms and Conditions before beginning training. The Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which training is provided, while the Club Handbook contains key information and policies, including training rules and safeguarding arrangements.
BMABA is the Club’s registered association and acts as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Any safeguarding or conduct concerns should be reported in the first instance to Ashley Stocker at contact@unit12gosport.com. Where concerns are not addressed promptly, relate to the Club’s response, or involve this individual, they may be escalated directly to BMABA’s professional safeguarding team at safeguarding@bmaba.org.uk..
Before attending a first training session, new students are required to read and sign the Club’s New Joiner Form. This includes assumption of risk statements and a core safety briefing. Students who continue training are required to pay the annual membership fee within 28 days of starting, which includes essential individual training insurance.
